Fuel Systems for Forklifts
Forklift Fuel System - The fuel system is responsible for providing your engine the gasoline or diesel it requires in order to function. If any of the individual parts in the fuel system break down, your engine would not function right. There are the major components of the fuel system listed under:
Fuel Tank: The fuel tank holds the fuel. The fuel from the gas station pump, moves from the tank travels down the gas hose into your tank. In the tank there is a sending unit. This is what tells the gas gauge how much gas is in the tank.
Fuel Pump: In newer cars, the majority contain fuel pumps normally located inside the fuel tank. A lot of the older automobiles would connect the fuel pump to the engine or located on the frame next to the tank and engine. If the pump is inside the tank or on the frame rail, therefore it is electric and operates with electricity from your cars' battery, whereas fuel pumps that are mounted to the engine make use of the motion of the engine to be able to pump the fuel.
Fuel Filter: Clean fuel is very important for overall engine life and engine performance. Fuel injectors have tiny openings that can clog without problems. Filtering the fuel is the only way this can be avoided. Filters could be found either after or before the fuel pump and in several instances both places.
Fuel Injectors: The majority of domestic cars after the year 1986, together with earlier foreign cars came from the factory with fuel injection. In place of a carburetor to perform the job of mixing the air and the fuel, a computer controls when the fuel injectors open to be able to let fuel into the engine. This has caused better fuel economy and lower emissions overall. The fuel injector is really a small electric valve which closes opens with an electric signal. By injecting the fuel close to the cylinder head, the fuel stays atomized, or inside tiny particles, and can burn better when ignited by the spark plug.
Carburetors: Carburetors have the task of taking the fuel and mixing it with the air without whichever involvement from a computer. Carburetors require repeated rebuilding and retuning although they are easy to work. This is among the main reasons the newer vehicles on the market have done away with carburetors instead of fuel injection.
